Welcome to the projects page of Zinschitz Yacht Service. Here you can read about the various kinds of large and small projects we have done. Please browse through the stories and photos.
All these projects have been put on our website with the permission of the owner.
Repowering motor sailor "Bob Along"
Dart Sailor 30
The family Zweers has long been a customer of ours. Their ship has been serviced many times by us in the past and now the time was ripe for a new engine.
The old Perkins (4108) was on its last legs, and in consultation with the Zweers family we decided to mount a new Yanmar 4JH5. First of all the propeller shaft and the propeller shaft seal, a Sure seal, were replaced. At a later stage a Holex mechanical seal was fitted, because this was better suited to the new configuration. The propeller was adjusted in pitch to ensure that the new engine could give optimal delivery.
The hull was also addressed immediately. We removed the old antifouling and applied two layers of Primocon followed by a layer of Interspeed and a layer of Micron antifouling. All of these were from International to prevent problems with adhesion, etc.
After the ship was put to water and the sea trial successfully completed, we handed the boat over to the Zweers family. Since then they have made many happy journeys with their boat.
And we wish them many more to come!
Tenders Mega yachts
Marina Port Zélande
We are regularly asked by Marina Port Zélande to assist them in specific projects. One of these projects was very special and we would like to show you it here.
It was a partial refit and complete spraying of two tenders belonging to a motor yacht.
At a later stage, one and a half years later, major technical maintenance on both tenders, two fast rescue vessels and the ski boat from the yacht was required.
For the partial refit and spraying, both tenders were completely disassembled. When we were ready to start on the technical part, all of the engines were removed from the tenders and the fast reques, and repaired and checked where necessary. It was an interesting challenge and we tremendously enjoyed working together with MPZ. The pictures speak for themselves.
Thursday's Child, replacement of deck
Pioneer 930, van de Stadt
For the family Zinschitz (yes, it’s our own ship, but that makes the project no less interesting), we replaced the entire deck. The ship is over thirty years old and because of the materials and construction techniques used then, the deck was in a bad condition. After some delay, we decided to replace it. And while we were at it, we decided to repaint the hull. The boat is presentable again……now the interior!
